Meet Cheryl
Thank you for visiting my website.
I'm Cheryl Reynolds, candidate for Kansas Representative District 57. I am a fifth-generation Kansan who is raising sixth-generation Kansans in my home county Shawnee. My husband John, of 20 years, and I have four children: Jim, Caitlin, Colin, and Connor. Caitlin is attending Kansas State University, Colin and Connor are in high school, and Jim is grown and out of the home.
I am a mom who wants a better future for her kids. I am a daughter who is proud of her blue-collar, union background. I am the wife of a man who grew up farming and still owns a third-generation family farm. I am the daughter of parents who grew up on Kansas farms. I am an educator who believes there is no greater gift that we give our children than a love for learning and the tools to become lifetime learners. I am also an educator who has taught students from middle and high school to adults in post-secondary settings. I am a writer who left a solid career in technology to return to school to follow my passion. I am a businesswoman who has worked in large companies as a systems analyst. I am also a businesswoman who has worked with small companies as a consultant, software developer, technical writer, and technology trainer. And, I am a businesswoman who has been a sole proprietor of her own business and knows the struggles of small businesses. I am a Kansan who cares about other Kansans, no matter their backgrounds and no matter their viewpoints.
My decades of real world, hands-on experience in education, in business, in agriculture, and in raising a family gives me a broad perspective.
I
have deep and continued ties to the community. I will be here in five
years and I will still be here in 20 years. Moreover, I hope my
children and my yet-to-be-born grandchildren will be here.
